Our Team
Johanna Gober
Founder, Executive Director
Johanna Gober founded True ID in 2013 and is the Executive Director, developing new and comprehensive reintegration and mentorship programs for trafficked and non-trafficked women, in the commercial sex-industry. As a survivor of the industry Johanna struggled with her self-worth and experienced the spiritual, mental and practical challenges of living a new way as she reintegrated back into her community. Johanna attributes the healing and transforming work in her life to God’s amazing grace shown through the people who embraced and empowered her in knowing her true identity in Christ Jesus and helped open doors of opportunity to help take healthy practical steps forward. Since then Johanna’s deep passion is to practically support and empower other women with biblical truths and opportunities in life so they too might live life to the fullest.
Johanna is a member of the Southern Nevada Human Trafficking Task-force. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and graduated with honors in scholarship and leadership from Biola University, BOLD Program. Johanna has over 10 years experience in behavioral therapy for minors in schools and the private practice sector. She has over 20 years of service in church leadership and mentoring roles for youth and women ministries.
Johanna is married to an extraordinary man, leader, encourager, and ministry partner, Jed Gober for 17 years, and has two wonderful children together. If Johanna is not at TrueID she is on family adventures or at her kid’s events. She is a DIY enthusiast and loves taking broken or tossed items and making something new from them.
Johanna’s favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Nicole Brewer
M.S., CPC, LCADC, Certified EMDR Therapist
Nicole Brewer is a psychotherapist who has been practicing for about nine years. During that time, she has worked with individuals from all walks of life through her private practice in Henderson, NV, including children and adults of all ages. Nicole primarily sees individuals impacted by some form of trauma, however, she also works with family-related issues, emotional struggle, anxiety, and other life struggles.
Nicole’s first exposure to trauma happened many years ago when she began working with a group of women who had endured domestic violence and emotional abuse. That first encounter sparked her love for working with women. Since then, she has felt compelled to learn more about how trauma can impact one’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. With that knowledge, she aims to meet women where they are at and be present with them as they process past and present struggles.
Nicole believes that everyone is uniquely equipped for a specific mission in life. God has put her in the position to become trained, certified, and practice the treatment of EMDR, a highly effective form of therapy for trauma. Nicole’s experience in the field has uniquely prepared her to work with True ID.
When she is not working as a therapist, she loves to be active outside and enjoys cooking and listening to a good podcast.
“But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!” – Matthew 6:30
Daphne Brocker
Director of Reintegration
As Director of Administration, Daphne Brocker oversees the administrative needs for TrueID. She is passionate about helping women who desire to begin a new life after being trapped in the sex industry. She feels it is vital that the women served by trueID receive the love and support needed to reintegrate into society to avoid the vulnerabilities of being re-trafficked or being re-victimized.
Mrs. Brocker joined TrueID in 2015 as a volunteer, offering to help as a mentor or in any capacity needed. She had the opportunity to host women in her home and mentor them, understanding the need to unconditionally love and support them in their journey. She also has extensive experience in human resources and office management. This eventually led to her acceptance of her current position as Director of Administration.
Daphne has been married to her husband, Eric, for more than 25 years and is the mother of two grown children. Daphne loves to travel (especially abroad), read, try new restaurants, spend time with family, and watch sports (particularly hockey).
